Safeflow was asked by a hospital trust to carry out deposit thickness testing and microbiological swab testing in numerous ventilation systems throughout a hospital.
Plates were inserted into the internal surfaces of the ductwork, in predetermined access points, throughout the system. The plates were then sent to an independent accredited laboratory to provide detailed results on yeast, mould, fungal, and bacterial activity within the ductwork. Results were received and an annual cleaning programme was provided to the hospital in compliance with HTM03-01 regulations.
Following the testing, Safeflow provided clear recommendations based on the laboratory findings, helping the client understand current system conditions and any potential risks. Regular deposit thickness and microbiological testing plays a vital role in maintaining air quality, supporting infection control measures and ensuring ongoing compliance within healthcare environments.
