About this project

Safeflow were contacted by a large car manufacturing plant, which was experiencing ongoing issues with its extraction system. Small particles of paint from the spray areas had been settling over time on the coil surfaces, creating a significant buildup. This accumulation severely restricted airflow, leading to increased running costs of the ventilation system, reduced system efficiency and a noticeable decline in overall air quality within the facility.

Following a detailed site assessment, Safeflow devised a tailored cleaning and maintenance programme in collaboration with the car plant. This involved a combination of wet and dry coil cleaning techniques, using high-pressure air alongside a carefully selected coil cleaning solution to effectively remove the buildup without causing damage to the system.

After the cleaning process was completed, airflow rates increased dramatically, restoring the system to optimal performance. This resulted in a reduction in energy consumption and running costs for the plant, as well as a significant improvement in air quality, creating a cleaner and safer working environment for employees.

This resulted in:

  • Significant increase in airflow performance
  • Reduced energy usage and operational costs
  • Improved air quality across the facility
  • Extended lifespan of the ventilation system
  • Safer, healthier working environment for staff
